The product

An alternative pad suitable for riding both with and without a saddle, which is characterized by a good massaging effect as well as good ventilation properties.

In the patent applied for, a flat base body, which may be formed of fabric, cloth, woven fabric, knitted fabric, fleece, felt, leather, sponge rubber, is joined to contact elements, which may be made of a wide variety of material compositions. Elongated contact elements are used, which lead to a better pressure distribution. Free spaces are arranged between the individual contact elements, which lead to better air circulation and ensure better removal of sweat produced. At the same time, the contact elements have a massaging effect on the back of the riding animal and thus serve to loosen and promote circulation.

The contact elements can vary in height to create an optimal connection between mount and rider. They deform under pressure and can be well adapted to the individual design of the back of the mount.
Tests have shown that the effect of the patented support is particularly good when the width of the contact elements is between 10 and 30 mm and the clear distance between the individual contact elements is preferably between 15 and 20 mm.

Data

According to the German Equestrian Federation, there are approx. 1,25 Mill. horses in Germany. Not all horses are ridden. Broodmares and growing horses up to 3 years of age are generally not ridden. In addition, there are a large number of horses that can no longer be ridden for reasons of age or health. The number of regularly ridden horses in Germany is estimated at approx. 800.000 - 900.000. In the EU, there are approx.. 7 Mill. horses, worldwide approx. 60 Mill.

Cost benefit

The first saddle blankets were made by experienced seamstresses and tested in a select, narrow circle, not only successfully, but with excellent acceptance by the horse and enthusiasm of the riders.

Now we are taking the next step and would like to have riding pads with or without lambskin professionally manufactured and made available to the equestrian sport (tournament as well as leisure riders) for test purposes.

In this context, the long-term stability is also important. The ceiling should not be worn out after just a few months. We are also in contact with an institute that specializes in sustainability. Because this has also become a big topic among leisure and tournament riders.

In order to bring the first of two products from us to the market, we would like to offer licensing..

Since our product is visually different from other riding pads right away, this will also be highly interesting for an exclusive marketing right. We are not opposed to this path either.
The German patent application and the European patent application offer an innovative improvement approach for saddle pads.  At 60 - 80 Mill. EUR, the market for saddle pads is large enough to successfully position a niche product and generate a positive cost-benefit ratio for interested parties.
